Cambodia Water Projects
In Cambodia, 21% percent of the country does not have basic access to safe drinking water. Children are falling sick, and it’s entirely preventable.
- 1 in 3 people, or 32 percent of the population, does not have access to a toilet, so they go outside in the open. This creates a major public health crisis.
- Preventing illness is challenging, as 34 percent of people have no reliable source of hand washing facility with soap and water.
- The good news: Diarrheal disease, the second leading cause of death in children under five, is nearly eliminated by drinking safe water and practicing proper sanitation and hygiene.

Our Work in Cambodia
Lifewater constructs custom water access and sanitation solutions in the globe’s hardest to reach communities. This includes places like Borkeo and Svay Leu, regions in Cambodia in great need of safe water.
First, local staff who know the culture and language help communities adopt life-saving sanitation and hygiene practices. They love like Jesus by bringing health to their neighbors. Then, communities receive a safe water source built to last for generations, and donors receive an update with a photo of their impact.
(Note: data below from June 2015–August 2020)
WATER SOURCES
Safe water sources are built to last with the needs of each community in mind.
SUSTAINABILITY
With regular water quality testing and maintenance, promises of long-term transformation are kept.
PEOPLE SERVED
Every person deserves the health and hope that comes with safe water. All data from 2015 – August 2020.
“My wife and I were fortunate to find Lifewater. I could write for hours about them, the service and impact they provide. We love supporting them and look forward to many years of partnership!”
– Chris and Sarah McCabe, Lifewater Donors
